Another epigram of Palladas (A.P. 10.85):

Πάντες τῷ θανάτῳ τηρούμεθα καὶ τρεφόμεσθα,
    ὡς ἀγέλη χοίρων σφαζομένων ἀλόγως.

We all are tended and fed for death, like a herd of pigs slaughtered at random.
