The fact that it’s a one-letter word is particularly impressive:<\/p>\n \ue1cc \u03c4\u1f73\u03ba\u03bd\u03b1 \u039a\u1f71\u03b4\u03bc\u03bf\u03c5 \u03c4\u03bf\u1fe6 \u03c0\u1f71\u03bb\u03b1\u03b9 \u03bd\u1f73\u03b1 \u03c4\u03c1\u03bf\u03c6\u1f75<\/strong><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n This was corrected to \u1f6e<\/span><\/font> in the second edition (1984).<\/p>\n 2. In a Latin text:<\/strong> In D. R. Shackleton Bailey’s Teubner text of Horace, the last word of the Horatian corpus is misspelled, turning Horace’s leech who will not let go until full of blood into a bird, specifically a swallow:<\/p>\n non missura cutem nisi plena cruoris hirundo<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n I’m told this was corrected to hirudo<\/em> in later printings.<\/p>\n 3.
